Dynamic/Open-minded/Talented
I had a very talented team to work with. Rhea Mukherjee was helping us with the content, students Anoushka Mohapatra and Thomas Sebastian helped with the creation of the visuals with their original artworks. I was responsible for the brand visual identity.
Concept and iteration
The visual identity design for DOT was carried out to show the idea of Dynamism, open minded ness and talent. Even though the acronym gave us the idea to go with a dot, it was decided to show the playfulness of the dot by keeping it in the middle and then other visual elements around it. The idea was to visualise multiple things coming together that can show something pointed, rounded coming together with a plus along with it.
Type and colour
The typeface chosen was IBM plex sans due to its flexibility and the initiative was predominantly planned to be online. IBM plex is a versatile typeface
designed by IBM. The idea was to use a typeface which had enough variations and could communicate about the digital initiative with a balance of human elements.
The colours were chosen based on the emotion the words were to bring a shade of red for Dynamic to show the get it done attitude at Anant, shade of pale yellow to denote the all accepting minds of Anant and the shade of bluish green to show the naturally talented group at Anant.
