Design for Print
I had the opportunity to teach the coure ‘Design for Print’ for the semester 4 students of UID NCR along with the faculty Devansh Sagar. It was. wonderful to teach along with Devansh, him being a fellow photography design student from NID was helpful. Thorughout the course we made the students explore the different methods of printing from linocut to cyanotype to digital printing. We also did book binding with the students. We are thankful to the CPB Cyanotype kit, the delivery gods for it reaching us on time and the UID NCR fraternity for providing us the support.
We gave them three assignments, first one a poster with the prompt ‘Print is not dead’ to be digitally printed in A1 size. Second was a screen printing assignment, they had to design a screen to be printed on a T shirt or a tote bag. They had to design a visual identity for the Visual Communication department. The final assignment was to make a cyanotype print with the theme of patterns. The work. can be found in the photographs below.
