Remus Communion Invitation/Remus முதல் புனித திருவிருந்து அழைப்பு

This fun project was to design an invitation for the first holy communion of my nephew Remus.

First holy communion in catholic faith is a celebration when the young pubescent kids are indoctrinated into the faith by believing that they are taking the body and blood of the Christ through osthi dipped in wine. This formed the basis of my design, I digitally illustrated different elements which denote the things in the celebration of Eucharist. IHS are the first three letters of the name "Jesus” in Greek. This is Iota (I), Eta (H in capitalised form in Greek), Sigma (S). It is sometimes written IHC (the version of the capital letter sigma at the end of a word is C) and may include a bar over the H to indicate an abbreviation. The grape, wheat, chalice, and bread all form the elements of the celebration. The colours were chosen to best illustrate and give a rich contrast to the invitation. Since the parents wanted to have a bilingual invite the typeface was chosen in a way that both languages go together. The following designs were made after making a stapled up dummy.
